Canning your food. Watermelon rind relish. Waste not, want not!

This is an very old recipe that I understand came from the times of the depression, and even before that in the south when the black people back then had to live off the land. My first taste of this relish was in the south. The relatives there made this made it like a sweet relish or bread and butter pickle recipe. and this is how I made mine. I used Mrs Wages bread and butter mix that comes in a bag ready to use

Watermelon rind being prepared for canning. Yummy! I though I had taken more pictures as to how to how they were in my canner, and when they were done too. But sometimes the camera will not act as how you want it to. But if I do fine the pictures I will post them.

So here is another way to do the watermelon. There are many ways to do them, but to preserve it for long term can your product and you can eat it all year round.
