Where is JESUS at Christmas?

Hello everyone! Today is the last day of the month of November 2019 when I am writing this. When you read this it will be the last month of the year in 2019. I do pray you all will have a blessed day as we prepare for the celebration of Christmas 2019!

As I go through a certain craft store here in New York…..I wanted to get some Christmas items for decoration. So I looked arounf the store looking at the elves, santas, snowmen, winter scenes, tinsel, garland…there was nothing in there with the name of JESUS there.

To me, it is like celebrating a persons birthday and leaving them out of it, but putting another person in their place. So in other words, celebrating Joe’s birthday with nancy there. Her picture instead of Joe’s picture all through the celebration.

I went to anther store and found nothing with JESUS on it. Even the holiday cards in that store left JESUS out. “What’s going on here?” I said to my husband. ” Do not see any cards for Christmas with JESUS on it.” So when I found a sales associate, I asked if they carried anything religious there for Christmas. She said she has seen anything like that in a way that let me know she felt bad about it. But she only worked there, and was not the one incharge of ordering.

To me JESUS is the reason for the celebration in the 1st place. JESUS was left out in the local stores, and this is totally not right. The holiday was transformed into something that has nothing to do with JESUS coming to earth to save all mankind from the sins we all have done our whole lives long. All done through the hands of GOD.

Each year beit through commercials, movies, plays ….left our our beloved JESUS from this day. Taking the HOLY meaning of all the things we are doing.

Each year it gets worse and worse. Making the holiday for selling and buying more important for the love of our savior.

I don’t know about you, when I see them leave our JESUS it hurts. It hurts me because it feels like it hurts me as well. It hurts me because I do love JESUS and HE is in my heart.

As a child I remember the talk about the 12 days of Christmas too. There was that popular song called “The 12 days of Christmas”. It talked about the gifts of the 12 days. I looked up on this, and some will say that the meanings behind the 12 written in the around the 15th century was not made to teach children about the bible. But I find this interesting as what it may have meant here.

The songs gifts are hidden meanings to the teachings of the faith. The “true love” mentioned in the song doesn’t refer to an earthly suitor, it refers to God Himself. The “me” who receives the presents refers to every baptized person. The partridge in a pear tree is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. In the song, Christ is symbolically presented as a mother partridge which feigns injury to decoy predators from her helpless nestlings, much in memory of the expression of Christ’s sadness over the fate of Jerusalem: “Jerusalem! Jerusalem! How often would I have sheltered thee under my wings, as a hen does her chicks, but thou wouldst not have it so…”

The other symbols mean the following:

2 Turtle Doves = The Old and New Testaments
3 French Hens = Faith, Hope and Charity, the Theological Virtues
4 Calling Birds = the Four Gospels and/or the Four Evangelists
5 Golden Rings = The first Five Books of the Old Testament, the “Pentateuch”, which gives the history of man’s fall from grace.
6 Geese A-laying = the six days of creation
7 Swans A-swimming = the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, the seven sacraments
8 Maids A-milking = the eight beatitudes
9 Ladies Dancing = the nine Fruits of the Holy Spirit
10 Lords A-leaping = the ten commandments
11 Pipers Piping = the eleven faithful apostles
12 Drummers Drumming = the twelve points of doctrine in the Apostle’s Creed

Put JESUS back into Christmas, we can do so by….

  1. Put son of the one GOD of all heaven and earth, Jesus Back Into Christmas This Year. Tell your children the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate. It is the celebration of the birth of the savior of the entire human kind!
  2. Observe Advent. It is a season observed in many Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for both the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas and the return of Jesus at the Second Coming. The term is a version of the Latin word meaning “coming”.
  3. Go to Church.
  4. Display a Crèche. Or Nativity Scene. I will keep the feeling the reason for the season.
  5. Read the Christmas Story Out Loud. Start from the book of Matthew.
  6. Don’t Cut Christmas Short. There are 12 days of Christmas to follow if you choose to do so. But if you are one who prays every single day and through your day, this is already done.
  7. Listen to Real Christmas Music. Music that has the real meaning of Christmas, not “Rudolf the reindeer” sort of thing. But ones like ‘Oh HOLY” night.
  8. Wear Your Faith on Your Sleeve.

From an interesting read Dec 8, 2016 “7 Ways To Put Jesus Back Into Christmas This Year”. You can read more here. https://thefederalist.com/2016/12/08/7-ways-put-jesus-back-christmas-year/

What my Grandmother had taught me as a child was to say the LORD’S prayer in the morning of Christmas Day to show respect for the day. I do get one my knees every night before going to bed, but this was special. It was the day we choose to celebrate the coming of the LORD JESUS.

We do not have to listen to the secular peoples way as how to celebrate the LORDS day. It is our souls that we are concerned about and the acceptance of JESUS into out lives.

Have a blessed day , stay safe, stay in prayer at all times! Please like ans share this blog so there’s so that they will get a blessing as well too. Thank you for reading this blog.

Peace!
