If those who say Christmas is a pagan holiday, why isn’t New Year’s one also?

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a blessed CHRISTmas and New Year! 2926 came quickly, and will say this year might do the same thing!

As a curious person who wants yo know why about things I was curious about new years.

New Year celebrations originated over 4,000 years ago in ancient Babylon with the religious festival of Akitu, marking the spring equinox, with various cultures later linking their new year to important agricultural or astronomical events like the Nile’s flood or the winter solstice, eventually evolving to January 1st via the Roman calendar, reformed by Julius Caesar, and solidified by the Gregorian calendar for most of the world.

Is Jan 1 a pagan holiday?

The pagans celebrated the New Year on January 1. They called it the festival of Calends. They decorated their houses with wreaths and offered sacrifices to Goddess Juno.
